Hepatitis B
Transmitted through contact with blood and other body fluids of an infected person. A newborn can be infected if the mother is a Hepatitis B carrier. Chronic infection is more likely to occur in persons infected as infants or young children.

When to take:
1st dose is usually given soon after birth before baby is discharged from the hospital. 2nd and 3rd doses can be given as part of the 6-in-1 vaccine.
For a baby born to a mother who is Hepatitis carrier, the 2nd dose should be given at 1 month old and the 3rd dose can be given as part of the 5-in-1 vaccine at 6 months old.
Re-vaccination may be necessary if the blood test is done between 9-12 months old does not show adequate antibody level in the baby.
